PRP is a kind of regenerative treatment that uses a patient's own particular blood (particularly the organelles called platelets inside of the blood), to recover collagen and other infinitesimal structures that backing new, sound looking skin. Since PRP originates from a patient's own blood, there is essentially no danger of any sort of antagonistic (hypersensitive) response. Platelets are likewise part of the body's characteristic protection framework, so they additionally lessen the likelihood of viral and bacterial disease.

New Service! Miracu Threading Lift!

http://inspiremedspa.com

New Service!! Thread lift?!

Thread lifts emerged because many people — perhaps you — would like a facelift, but can't afford it or don't want the long recovery time of the standard facelift. Thread lifts have decreased in popularity, but in proper hands they can still be a useful tool. It is perhaps better considered as a lesser, or preliminary procedure. Thread lifts cost less and require less downtime for many people. Some plastic surgeons promote the thread lift as a "lunchtime lift" or "weekend facelift." Usually it can be performed in about one hour.

Who Should Consider a Thread Lift?

As we age, our facial support structure weakens, and we lose facial fat. The affected areas generally include the cheeks, the eyebrows and other areas around the eyes, the jowls and the neck. The result is a longer, older-looking face.

Younger people may experience cheek and brow ptosis (sagging caused by weakened muscles) as well. For these people especially, a thread lift may be a good alternative to the more invasive procedures necessary to correct problems in older people's faces.

Most people who undergo thread lifts are women between 35 and 45. They choose a thread lift because they have begun to see more prominence of the jaw, a relaxed (or minimally sagging) mid facial appearance or slight bags under the eyes or on the neck.

Great for both face and body lifts!

Hidden Tips on Aging That No One Talks About ….but Should!

There are plenty of secrets out there about aging that go unmentioned but we’re here to set a few of them free. Aging can be a touchy subject for many but it doesn’t have to be.

There is something graceful about aging, something exquisite. As the saying goes, “You get wiser with age”. Below you’ll read about a few tips that no one talks about but really should. It’s time to liberate these secret tips and embrace aging.

1. Beware of the sun!

Constant exposure to the sun is a big reason why aging can happen at a quicker rate than usual. Why do you think celebrities are religiously applying sunscreen even if they’re only spending 10 minutes out there? Burt’s Bees makes a  chemical free sunscreen that celebrity, Ellen Pompeo swears by. Sunscreen can help reduce damage from the sunrays on your skin even during the wintertime. Although the sun provides the body with Vitamin D, it’s important to note that there are other ways to get the vitamin in our system. Vitamin D capsules are available to take as well as using indoor infrared saunas (utilized through heat or light) that provide the right kind of rays that are better for your body rather than the rays directly from the sun.

2. A Blemish?! Now what do you do?

At the slightest sign of a blemish, celebrities are running to their dermatologists for help. This is primarily because celebrities believe that their skin needs to be well maintained and have this unwritten responsibility to exemplify perfection. And that is where we get this notion that perfect skin means a gorgeous face. But being that most of us aren’t celebrities (a person can dream, right?) let’s take a step back and talk about things we can do for our skin. It is a good idea to go for a facial once a month to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. Acne facials are exceptionally beneficial because you can have a medical professional safely remove the bumps for you without causing inflammation to the skin or without allowing you to develop that ugly habit of picking at your pimples.

3. Dead Skin is your enemy – Get A Chemical Peel!

So like I just said, dead skin is your enemy, trust me. It’s not pretty and it really has no business being anywhere near your face. Undergoing medical grade skin peels is an effective way to get rid of that forbidden dead skin. But WARNING: Chemical Skin Peels are not for the faint hearted. They can however make your face feel like a baby’s butt… I’m 100% serious. In this procedure, a chemical solution is applied to the skin, which makes it “blister” and peel off. The skin will peel off and the patient will have smoother and less wrinkled skin than they did before. However, peels are not all the same, thus medical grade peels such as the Vi-Peel are ones most recommended because of the numerous positive outcomes. It’s best to keep the chemical skin peels to a minimum per year, roughly twice a year unlike facials, which can be done once a month. These peels help clean up dark marks or any old acne marks.

4. Give Me a B… For Botox!

Botox is widely known as the non-surgical heaven to many men and women. It not only helps wrinkles, but it plumps lips, enhances cheekbones, and allows your face to have a refreshed look. Seems simple right? Well it is but unfortunately people take advantage of the process and end up looking plastic rather than an actual human. Although there are several negative stereotypes behind the usage of Botox and other injectable fillers, if done correctly and NATURALLY, many of your friends, family and colleagues will not even notice a change in your appearance.

5. Why PRP is the Latest and Greatest

Facial Bio-Stimulation stands for platelet rich plasma growth factors (PRP) where the PRP combines with ozone, resulting in a treatment specially designed to give your face extra brightness and vitality. PRP is a simple outpatient procedure that applies plasma that is rich in growth factors to the face. What makes this procedure unique is that the patients will use their own blood. The growth factors that were mentioned before are responsible to transmitting signals to the cells to begin forming new tissues. The plasma contains soluble proteins in the platelets, which prompts such a response. It can help skins appearance, boost the synthesis of collagen, stimulate the process of connective tissue; slow the skins aging process, and help with cell regeneration.

6. Carboxytherapy… Yes It’s a Real Thing

If you’ve never heard of carboxytherapy, well then get ready. It is the administration of carbon dioxide gas [CO2] for therapeutic purposes! The distribution of CO2 will allow oxygen to circulate through the body, which will increase blood circulation. By doing so, carboxytherapy can improve skin elasticity and circulation, encourage collagen repair, improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and destroy localized fatty deposits.

7. IV Vitamin Therapy Can Help You FEEL Younger

IV vitamin therapy is another treatment that has recently gained some popularity. It’s the process of feeding vitamins, minerals and other natural substances directly into the patient’s bloodstream. Benefits include increased energy levels and allowing patients to perform daily activities feeling more energized. It helps the immune system, which can allow you to be less to infection. IV vitamin therapy can also help conditions like depression, migraines, and allergies, just to name a few. If you want to FEEL younger, than this might be the treatment for you! If you’re having trouble accepting the aging process then have no fear because healthy skin is just a treatment away. Which one will you choose? Your healthy beautiful self = a happier you (it also doesn’t hurt to smile!). Let’s make a promise to ourselves to embrace aging for the beautiful element of life that it is.

People with blackheads and other non-inflammatory blemishes may indeed find regular facials help to reduce the amount of breakouts they experience. During a facial treatment, estheticians perform extractions by manually removing pore blockages, or comedones. By extracting these impactions, the pores are cleared of excess oil and cellular debris. Blemishes are less likely to form, improving some cases of non-inflammatory acne.

Get All The Energy You Need For This Summer - IV Vitamin Therapy

What is it?

A new health treatment that has been all the craze among celebrities such as Rihanna, Madonna, and Simon Cowell is now being offered at local spas. Intravenous Vitamin Therapy is a custom made IV drip that is injected directly into the bloodstream. Some overall benefits of this treatment includes but is not limited to boosting the immune system, making you less prone to infection, an increase of energy levels, and healthier, younger looking skin.

How does it work?

IV Vitamin Therapy begins with a consultation and an extensive background check of your health history. Your doctor will recommend blood work to be done in order to determine your current health state. A customized IV drip of vitamins and nutrients is produced based on your health and needs. The procedure generally last anywhere from 20 minutes to one hour. There are very little to no side effects so you can return to your daily activities as soon as possible.

What equipment is used?

The same equipment is used during a standard IV Treatment. An IV bag, tubing, and needles.

Does it hurt?

In order to properly get the vitamins and nutrients into the bloodstream a needle is used. During the treatment patients have been know to feel relaxed.

What are some possible side effects/health risks?

Side effects included feeling tired, drowsy, dehydrated, or a minor headache. When proper protocol and dosing is used, studies have shown no serious health risks arise. Which is why only taking the recommended dosing and treatment is required.

How many treatments are required?

Treatments vary. Your doctor will map out an individual dosing plan for every client. Based on their needs every person will likely have a different number of treatments. But in most cases patients saw results after the first dose.

What Is Carboxytherapy and How Does It Work?

What is it?

Carboxytherapy is the new, simple and proven technique that can dramatically improve the appearance of cellulite, stretchmarks and skin by increasing the metabolism of adipose tissue (Fat) and improving the quality and firmness of the skin. Treatments are quick, comfortable and effective for a high percentage of patients.

FAQ's:

How does carboxytherapy work for cellulite and fat reduction?

When injected via a specific technique, carbon dioxide gas is directly toxic to fat cells. The fat cells literally burst and are eliminated by the body.

How is Carbon Dioxide Therapy performed?

A non surgical technique where by CO2 is infiltrated into the subcutaneous fat via the smallest needle available. From one injection point the carbon dioxide diffuses easily into adjacent tissues so you won't feel like a pin cushion. Treatments take 15-20 minutes.

What should I expect from the treatment?

Every person is unique and although good results are expected, it is impossible to obtain 100% correction. Realistic expectations (depending on severity of the condition) would be an improvement in the treatment area with a series of weekly treatments. The improvements achieved with carboxytherapy are generally temporary and require maintenance treatments every as often as every 1 to 6 months. Some patients exceed our expectations, and some respond below expectations it it impossible to guarantee results.

Is there any down time?

No. There is no down time.

Is it painful?

Expected side effects include pinpoint minimal bleeding, discomfort or pain during the treatment, redness, bloating, warmth, temporary swelling that last for a few minutes.

Is it for all skin types?

Our body produces CO2 naturally in every breathe we exhale. Large volumes of CO2 gas are used regularly to facilitate laparoscopic abdominal surgery. CO2 is very safe for all skin types and no permanent side effects have been recorded with carboxytherapy.

Will I need Maintenance?

Maintenance treatments are required for continued results as often as every 1 to 6 months. The final results may not be apparent for several weeks after the treatment series.

Why Hormone Deficiency Causes Aging

Having optimal hormone balance is extremely important when it comes to aging, including your skin. As women age in their 40’s and 50’s they notice changes in their skin like sagging, stretching, wrinkling, and even acne which is all due to a hormone imbalance. DON’T PANIC! this is normal because as we age our hormones begin to deplete over time. This is known as a suboptimal hormone balance. A suboptimal hormone balance can have multiple symptoms and poor skin is one of them.

mountain.jpgWith age, the hormone progesterone will be among the first to deplete. This is one of the most important hormones as it is responsible for the body’s circulation. Without progesterone, you can get congestion, puffiness and acne and acne in your 50’s is not fun. Estrogen is another hormone that can become deficient with age. It is responsible for maintaining moisture in the skin and minimizing the size of your pores. With a low level of estrogen, the skin will begin to wrinkle.

Sagging is very common among the aging population and this is due to the depletion of the steroid hormone, testosterone. Testosterone helps maintain elasticity and prevent saggy skin; another concern for those who are aging. With a hormone imbalance, there are possibilities of mood swings, lack of energy, and fatigue. This is when people really start to “feel” old. They no longer have the energy and motivation they once did to do everyday activities.

When you have hormone deficiency your body is not performing at its optimal health which will subsequently result in an unregulated body. Hormone imbalance can lead to many complications while aging of the skin is probably one of the less harmful effects. It’s important to not when you’re not feeling yourself as this can be due to a hormone imbalance. Contact your local physician for further information.

How to Make Weight Loss Work For You

Coming to terms with what the phrase “Losing Weight” means is only half the battle. Those 2 words alone are enough to scare people away; but it doesn't have to. There are plenty of ways to form a weight loss plan that is centered around your means so that this whole process can work in your favor. The weight loss journey can no doubt be a long and hard one but that will be something to disregard if losing weight and getting back to a healthier lifestyle is your end goal. A lot of times, people will slip up from diets due to lack of motivation or pure laziness but this doesn't have to be you!

Crash dieting is not the answer in this kind of situation either because for 100% of people, a crash diet is definitely not within their means. It’s basically a calorie away from starvation, where you’re depriving your body from the proper amounts of nutrients it needs to function. A healthier lifestyle and weight loss are about filling the body with things it needs, like vitamins, minerals, and nutrients and not depriving it. Consequently, what you should be depriving your body of are those french fries and hamburgers from McDonalds, because you’re body doesn't need that. So, it’s time to make weight loss work for you. Let’s rid this perceived notion that weight loss is this scary thing and kick our butts into action!

For starters, you can go to your local supermarket and stock up on some healthy fruit and veggie items. Adding foods to your diet that are rich in fiber can aid in weight loss such as apples, sweet potatoes, chick peas and raspberries. Fruits are the perfect snack for when you’re craving something small throughout your day. So that means putting down the potato chips and picking up a banana instead, and they’re high in potassium too! Sugarless gum is also a great way to deal with cravings. They can take your mind and stomach off of those french fries you've been thinking about since 2 pm.

Making a calendar for your workout and/or meals are a great, and I repeat, A GREAT way to stay on track with your weight loss journey. Research what exercises you’re capable of doing and make a monthly plan. Maybe have double workouts one day a week to give you that extra boost in the process. However, be sure to allow rest days throughout your workout calendar. You and your body will both need it. Also, when you have a meal plan written down, you are more likely to follow it. Having one in your head won’t work as efficiently. Make the calendar colorful or decorate it however you like. Anything to keep you going, right? Make sure you put it somewhere that you will always see and follow what it says (obviously).

The most important thing to remember throughout your weight loss journey is to never give up. Now, that sounds like such a cliche but it’s very true. Do not give up and don’t ever give up until you reach your goal. And once you reach that goal, find another one! The hardest part about losing weight is getting started. Once you start, you love the way you feel and don’t want to stop. Losing those pounds will be the motivation that will keep you going. There’s nothing better than working hard and reaching your goal. The end results will be something to be proud of.

Google vs. An Actual Doctor

How many of us have self diagnosed ourselves based on things we've read on the internet? Probably a lot of us. Nothing wrong with that considering you could inevitably save yourself a trip to the doctor. Or it could be the opposite and your findings have lead you to make an appointment with the doctor. No matter the situation, I’m sure we can all agree upon the fact that consulting a real doctor rather than the internet is not only our best bet, but probably much safer.

So, you wake up one morning and you notice a rash on your hand. You think nothing of it but then as your day carries on it seems to be the only thing you notice. Your mind begins to fill with possibilities of what this rash might be attributed to so your first thought is to consult the internet. “What can cause a rash?” is what you will search for in Google and the search will come back with tons of websites containing a possible answer. You’ll read and think you've found the answer in which it very well may be the correct one.
However, what if this rash is because of something more? It could simply be a heat rash which will go away with time. If it isn't and you ignore it, then it could develop into something worse or be the symptom of something internally wrong. Consulting a doctor should be the next step. In all intents and purposes, consulting the doctor to diagnose your health problems should be your first option… “for good measure”.

There are a number of health issues out there can have the same types of symptoms, which is why coming to a conclusive conclusion can be sometimes difficult. You’re better off having a doctor diagnose you so that you don’t accidentally misdiagnose yourself and have it lead to something much more serious. Not that the internet can’t give the correct answer, but wouldn't you like to be safe than sorry? After all, it is your health and well-being.

Wellness Tips For a Better 2014

It’s already March of 2014 and some of you may have already abandoned your New Years resolutions, and that’s OK. But we’re here to let you know that there are still things you can do to ensure that you have a healthy and happy rest of 2014. A healthy lifestyle can lead to so many opportunities whether it’s motivation at work, or simply meeting a new friend at the gym. It’s the little things in life that can contribute to our overall happiness, which is an essential part to living a fulfilling life.

Changing your mindset can sound scary but it doesn't have to be. Not many people like change or the fact that it doesn't come easily so taking it one step at a time is a way to “cope” or as we like to call it “adjust”. When you include small steps towards your goals over a period of time, you’ll notice big changes later down the road. Adjusting to change all at once can lead to stress or a mental overload, which will inevitably leave you feeling burnt out. For example, when starting a diet, a lot of people can get way ahead of themselves by cutting out every and all foods that are bad for them. Logically this makes sense. However, by doing that, you’re not easing you or your body into the process so it will make it even harder for you to keep on your diet. You will be left feeling unmotivated and defeated. Substitute one item during each meal for a healthy one so that you can gradually ease yourself into healthier food choices. And this example can go for virtually anything in your life. It’s all about taking small steps to reach your goal.

In a similar point we made in one of our previous articles, being able to manage your stress is crucial in living a well balanced life. Don’t let stress get the best of you! It’s obviously inevitable but that doesn't mean we can’t learn how to handle it. Activities such as exercising, yoga, or eating healthy are all things that can help combat stress. It’s up to you to find what your escape may be; perhaps it’s losing yourself in a book or just a casual jog throughout your neighborhood. It’s whatever works best for you and your stress. Also, surround yourself with people who are always going to push you forward and not backwards. You will need people that will build you up instead of breaking you down so that they can push you to reach your goals.

Let 2014 be the best year yet for you. Do what you can and surround yourself with the right people. It’s the combination of all things positive that will contribute to your happiness as well as your well-being. Remember, a happy you means a happy life so this is motivation enough to make this year a great one.

Massaging After You Exercise

Any grueling and high intensity exercises can take a toll on the body; both good and bad. Most times when someone works out it’s to lose weight or to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Often times after a hard workout, the body will feel sore and in pain but that is only natural. For first time exercisers, this means you worked muscles that you haven’t worked in the past. For those who habitually work out, this means you worked those muscles harder than normal. Either way, you’re building muscle and working the body.

Massages are a great way for you and your muscles to feel some relief. When you receive, let’s say, a Swedish massage, this will help fully soothe and relax tired muscles, which can balance circulation as well as induce a feeling of wellbeing and relaxation. After a workout, your muscles are tired and will want relief. Massages are great way to keep the body balanced so that you can get back to your exercising routine.

On the other hand, massages such as deep tissue massages can help injuries to the muscles that may have resulted from working out. It’s very common to pull a muscle while exercising and it’s even more common for people to not take care of the problem. Don’t let that be you. Neglecting the injured area can have even further repercussions and there’s no doubt that you will feel discomfort the next time you work out. This treatment is recommended for muscle fatigue, chronic pain, spasm as well as limited range of motion. This is an intense working of tension spots in muscles and tissue to ease muscle, joint, and eliminate the pain accompanying injury. This type of massage is ideal for men and women who play sports and exercise on a daily basis.

Making sure that your bones and muscles are in alignment is what makes your body go round. With that balance, you will feel great whenever it comes time to exercise. Like I mentioned before, it is in your best interest to not neglect any injured areas. Your best options are to get a massage or simply rest but both are probably your best bet. Feeling your best when working out is important to get the most out of your exercises. This is why it is also just as important to make sure your muscles are moving correctly.

Here at Inspire Med Spa we have numerous daily spa treatments that can help you get your body back to its optimal potential. We all deserve to feel our best and quite frankly, we owe it to ourselves too!
